Match vs Loire – lost to fatigue and weather!
To make a long story short, we could have won the game, as we had our visitors in a very delicate position, chasing 157, and at one stage on 67/5.
BUT – and notice the large “but” – I’m afraid that the very hot weather (around 40° under the sun) combined with the 3rd week of Ramadan proved too much for our young men, especially regarding fielding… Dehydration and loss of concentration led to too many dropped catches, which if taken would have awarded victory.
So all congrats to our friends of Loire for keeping their nerve and overcoming the target with 3 overs to spare.
A little break now, as there is a heatwave alert, and we’ll resume normal cricketing activities on Tuesday 28 or Wednesday 29!
